I don’t think there is much to debate about his type, but there is on wether he is a 3w2 or a 3w4 and most importantly if he is a so/sp or sp/sx. The problem is that we can’t know, the debate on whether he was acting for his own interest or for the interest of France is still unresolved due to the fact that he was an extremely intelligent man and a deceitful diplomat. Even his memoirs present the two possibilities as believable. Your vote on those things clearly just depends on how you want to see him.
背景
Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord (2 February 1754 – 17 May 1838), 1st Prince of Benevento, then 1st Duke of Talleyrand, was a French politician and diplomat. After theology studies, he became in 1780 Agent-General of the Clergy and represented the Catholic Church to the French Crown. He worked at the highest levels of successive French governments, most commonly as foreign minister or in some other diplomatic capacity. His career spanned the regimes of Louis XVI, the years of the French Revolution, Napoleon, Louis XVIII, and Louis-Philippe. Those he served often distrusted Talleyrand but, like Napoleon, found him extremely useful. The name "Talleyrand" has become a byword for crafty, cynical diplomacy.
