Suma Uzui {Lazy EFLV Argument ;)} 𖤛♡𖤓“𝒲ℴ𝓌 𝒶 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝑔ℴ𝓃𝒻𝓁𝓎！“𖤓♡𖤛 This is a fairly lazy argument (correlation) idgaf ngl. What makes it lazy is that I'm only correlating things and not rlly disproving other things, cause i cba. alr. I'll first go through 4V, then EFLV as a type. cool. should take me one part, but if it doesnt then alright. (there are 3 parts lol) Gonna use the anime and the dub voices. alright ❀⋰⋱𝟺𝚅 𝙲𝙾𝚁𝚁𝙴𝙻𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂⋰⋱✿ "The picture of the universe living in the soul of the 4V practically repeats the corresponding picture of the 1V........the difference is that the "serf" (4V) does not automatically place himself on the upper level, like a "king" but on its lower one, assigning himself the role of a shepherd, a subordinate, a child" (SoL ≈pg130) We can see this via the introduction of herself and Makio, when they are fighting the "Worm-belt" she says: "I'm not much of a fighter..." (despite being a Kunoiichi, and landing effective attacks) "...so please don't get your hopes up" ⇰Shes implying that the very first thing you should know about her, is that you should't expect much of her, pretty correlative to the description. Moreover, she tells Makio, "You know I'm a good-for-nothing, I mean, i got captured right away! It's too much to ask for me! Protecting everyone who got caught! I'm the most liable to did first!" "Low self esteem..." (SoL ≈pg130), and self-efficacy also correlates with the quote above and therefore the 4V type description. Moreover, the 4V is described to be "ultimately childish" (SoL ≈pg130) and this is more evident than the sky bejng blue at daytime. However childishness is due to "its sincerity and simplicity...." which we can still see in her character. On the surface there doesn't seem to be anything relatively complex, since she "acts her mind" (doesnt make sense, what i mean is, she isn't restrained like Makio or Hinatsuru, hence why they both feel indignation sometimes, but in the end they still seem to have a mutual, platonic love for each other) when she puts her arm on Tengen's hips whilst crying whereas Makio tries to repress her cathartic emotions, but we can see that she struggles to. Despite the traditional way a wife would be, it is safe to say that Suma is unconventional. Furthermore, I have a more unconventional point to make: "The 4V is the most faithful spouse, the most loyal subordinate." which no, im not implying that Makio and Hinatsuru are unfaithful, let me show you my interpretation of this quote: i think the 4V is basically like glue, a loyal follower because of some type of connection they have found. We can see this how Suma latches onto Tengen in the anime as opposed to Makio and Hinatsuru for example, that memory where they were walking in some field and dragon flies were there, Makio and Hina were a pair together, and Tengen and Suma where another. In addition to that, when Kabunamaru (spelt it wrong prolly) scared Suma, she just skedaddled to Tengen with no regard of his physical state. Furthermore, again in her opening after Inosuke calls Daki's belt an "...annoying worm belt" and Makio concurs on the name, Suma agrees with the name too in an unconventional way, then says "I'm so gonna tell Lord Tengen on you" (something like that). For me, that represented her eccentric loyalty to Tengen, very strange, yes but it's sweet. "In addition to simplicity, openness and selflessness, the 4V is distinguished by a sincere unwillingness to take serious responsibility" (SoL ≈pg132) Looking back at the argument between Makio and Suma because Suma believed she was an unreliable, and unskilled fighter, she tries to justify her words rather than actually give herself-self trust. She says that they shouldn't rely on her fighting skills this evades her from any situation that others get hurt because of her. It's her avoiding "serious responsibility" BOOYAHH I cooked. And the reason why I want to correlate this to 4V is because she makes this her whole identity, by pushing against the belief that she could be skilled and useful, which she is.
