But he also is blind to how this doesn't serve him in the long-run. He doesn’t care to hold onto any principles, so he accepts Annie in his house, rather than putting his foot down on it. And sort of lets her do as she wishes, not caring to put down rules (Ti-ignoring). - Later, he doesn’t hesitate in helping Annie find her parents. He doesn't have ideological inklings or thinks of how things should be/how things should fit - instead, just focused on providing practical solutions to things (Te > Ti). He cares about Annie's comfort, rather than trying to push and challenge her like an Se-ego might.
