An unhealthy cowardly 6 with dominant self preservation instinct and antisocial personality disorder. Sixes (especially sp and so) may appear like ones because of their adherence to the rules of their way of life. The difference between them is that sixes do it out of fear of punishment and because they fear losing stability, while ones are actually inclined and truthfully faithful to what they stand for. Dimitri clearly did what he did because of cowardice and fear of punishment. Mikhail was making moves on many people, including associates that were as or even more powerful than them, and was putting his security on the line, alongside Dimitri's. He knew what would happen if he stayed alongside him while he was pushing folks around, so he decided to manipulate Niko to do his bidding and take out Faustin, because he knew Niko, like him, feared for his own sake and his cousin's. Knowing that Bulgarin was in town and wanted to take revenge on Niko because of their past, he sided with Bulgarin against Niko, because he knew Bulgarin wouldn't let him live if he defended him. He never had anything personal against anyone involved with him. Never actually disliked Niko. In fact, my theory is that he actually saw Niko as someone similar to him in many ways and that, in my opinion, would actually be correct. Both share the same mentality and do what they need to do to keep themselves safe. The difference between them is that Dimitri never cared about anyone and betrayed everyone without a second thought, while Niko was loyal to his family and his close friends. Very interesting character and very good protagonist-antagonist dynamic. The world needs more storylines like this.
