I think he is a great example of a character that shows the common traits of type 9 and 5 while actually being a 5. His needs to be unbothered and to converse his energy are clear by how he avoids others and rests a lot, but in the end they are there to fuel his avarice in collecting knowledge. He ignores the passion and desires a 9 would have as soon as he is in his element of crest research, a good example is how he deals with Lysithea in their support. Speaking of his research and the Lysithea supports, I think social might be his primary instinct. The dominant social instinct in 5s manifests as seeking knowledge and a higher understanding of the world, in Linhardt's case that's his quest for understanding crests and since this seems to be his core motivation during the story, I think it wins over his sp tendencies. He also shows signs of "collecting" people that can help him in his quest like Lysithea or Flayn (think of their precious crest babies) which is also a really social 5 way of "socializing".
背景
The son of Count Hevring. He hates constraints and loves his freedom, so he does his best to avoid worries and problems, and indulges in lazing about. However, he's got a genuine interest in Crests, and when he gets into his research he can forget to even eat or sleep. Despite their personalities and hobbies being different, he gets along well with Caspar.
