hes a 5 his tendency is to go away from people, retreating to the safety of his own mind and space. as said by another comment: he has said multiple times that he isn't comfortable with "creatures ruled by instinct" and isn't comfortable going with his instinct either. he is very "flight" which is a 5 thing rather than "fight" which is an 8 thing he does seek autonomy and stuff because 5s need their space respected, they feel too fragile to deal with the world so they seek security through mastering something and being careful of what/who they spend their energy with. they often think of dealing with people as very draining they might think of relationships as dangerous and tend to avoid intimacy or keep their social circle small hes also 8fix i believe
