"He also has a materialistic streak when it comes to romance, with his choice of partner often swayed by financial gain—he admits that he’d likely pick Kurara, drawn more to her wealth than any emotional connection." Sp 3 is pretty fitting for his backstory of living in poverty and being forced to take on adult responsibilities as a child.
