Some differences between ISTP and ISFP: Conflict styles: ISTP - "tends to be economic with words... this is not rudeness but a desire to get everything resolved and so they will get straight to the point." ISFP - "Quiet and unobtrusive the ISFP will rarely project their feelings... even when they are upset or riled will tend to walk away and keep their own counsel." Kyuuta's interactions with Kumatetsu definitely point towards ISTP. He's not afraid to state his matter-of-fact opinions and observations in order to get things done, nor voice/express his emotions and thoughts to Kumatetsu (once he opens up to him). Creativity: ISTP - "essentially practical, preferring the concrete and factual to anything they perceive as woolly or impractical." ISFP - "very creative, as they have a great talent for noticing all the details and relationships between things giving them a subtle artistic approach and to come up with unique ways of seeing things. Kyuuta shows not an ounce of creativity or interest in the finer arts. He's shown much more interest in accumulating practical knowledge and understanding the world around him. And then looking at inferior functions - inferior Te? No way. Te approaches and structures things in rational ways, whether it be for the sake of understanding, utility, or maintaining external order. It takes the perceived world, carves it up into pieces, then proceeds to name and analyze each piece on its own terms. In contrast, Fe (inferior of ISTP) is more concerned with collective morale and tends to help others manage their emotions, as well as to turn to others for emotional support. Inferior Fe fits much more imo.
