Hotaru is a character whom I recall fondly, as I always perceived her as a kindred spirit and found the friendship she shared with Rini wholesome, and she truly needed someone whom would be loyal to her and add some cheer into her life. While I do perceive her as having a strong 9 fix, I always remembered her as a lonely and misunderstood girl with a troubled past whom despite her faults, was a gentle spirit and had an innate desire to heal and help others. Despite her kind and considerate nature, Hotaru was very much an introvert and had a melancholic temperament, as she found pleasure in obscure things such as hiding in darkened rooms and surrounding herself with lamps, and her intellectual streak showed in her love of literature and passion for World History. She tends to be guarded however and has a bit of a polite reserve, and one could even interpret her as someone who is delicate, despite how ominous and destructive her powers as Sailor Saturn, her alter ego can be. Hotaru is a sweet and well-meaning person, but also reclusive and private, which makes the stark contrast between her and the outgoing and optimistic Rini all the more evident. Even after all these years, I still see her as a great character and feel she has a lot of hidden depths, although I feel her attitudes and motivations align more with that of an enneagram 4 than an actual 9.
背景
A friendless ill girl and most unfortunate member of the cast... all thanks to the unfortunate double presence of world-destroying powers and demonic possession. She's had a rough childhood, to put it mildly, but manages to remain a kind, genuinely sweet girl and a precious friend to Chibi-Usa.
