A purely strategic general. He had won his battles before they had even started. ENTJ generals are a mix between being great at both strategy and tactics, and, as they are really tactical in nature, they seek for opportunities in the midst of the battle, besides having a good strategy behind their doing. Hannibal, on the other hand, had everything planned out before the battles, not leaving a single thing to chance - Ni+Te at its nature. He just needed the soldiers to follow his preordained plans accordingly, and the victory was mostly guaranteed. There was no need for greater tactics with him. Whenever the situation was not optimal, out of control or lacking a proper strategic plan, he would just turn around and retreat, in order to prepare the strategy to beat the enemy in his own terms. He certainly was a INTJ. Although, 8w7 or 8w9?

Hannibal Barca (247 – between 183 and 181 BC) was a Carthaginian general, considered one of the greatest military commanders in history. His father Hamilcar Barca was the leading Carthaginian commander during the First Punic War. His younger brothers were Mago and Hasdrubal, and he was brother-in-law to Hasdrubal the Fair.
