"Will Graham是什么人格? Will Graham是MBTI中的INFJ人格类型,九型中的5w6 - sx/sp - 549,五大类型中的RLOAI,Socionics中ILI类型。"
(1/3) Will Graham is a 5, not a 6. Sp6 is very unsuitable for Will's personality. On a surface level, enneagram 6 is stereotypically associated with anxiety and trust, but it's a misconception to say that someone who lives in fear is automatically a 6. Overall, the most comprehensively suitable enneatype for Will is actually 5, specifically the sx5 subtype, aka "Trust". I welcome constructive feedback. — 1. Will Graham's Personality “What he has is pure empathy. He can assume your point of view, or mine, and maybe some other points of view that scare him. It’s an uncomfortable gift, Jack. Perception’s a tool that’s pointed on both ends.” Will Graham has a high level of empathy which impacts the way he interacts with the world around him. His empathy is a significant source of guilt and anxiety, because as a criminal profiler he understands the minds of killers. He deals with this hypersensitivity and guilt by shutting himself off from the world, making a refuge for himself and his pack of dogs, and finding comfort in nature and solitude. He avoids social interaction, often preferring to retreat into his own mind and to maintain an aloof front. Mostly he seeks to protect his own mind from outside influence. Despite his general isolation, Will clearly craves connection. He frequently rescues stray dogs and takes care of them. He selectively reaches out to people like Alana, Abigail, and Hannibal as sources of stability. Over the course of the show, Will's obsessive and fluctuating relationship with Hannibal becomes a driving force in his life. — 2. Head Triad: 5 or 6 "Will Graham deals with huge amounts of fear. It comes with his imagination. It's the price of imagination." As part of the head triad (aka the fear triad), both enneatypes 5 and 6 deal with fear. They experience a fear of the outside world, and deal with this fear through intellectualization. It's safe to say that Will is in the head triad, precisely because he is driven by fear — he sees the outside world as threatening, and prefers to use his own mind and intellect as a form of protection. — 3. The Case Against Enneagram 6 The most obvious point here is that sp6 doesn't suit Will. As a reminder, Will is averse to social interaction, often putting on a somewhat abrasive and aloof front in an effort to combat his own hypersensitivity. Perhaps the main reason the consensus is currently sp6 is simple stereotyping — enneagram 6 is associated with anxiety, and the sp instinct is associated with self-reliance. But this is actually an inaccuracy in the case of sp6. Sp6 is the most phobic subtype of 6, meaning sp6s tend to avoid aggression and confrontation. Rather, sp6s are quick to form alliances, and are generally people-pleasing for fear of having no support: “Warmth describes the style of Self-preservation Sixes. They are warm, friendly, and affable, making themselves likable to others as a way of ensuring their survival … Perceiving others as a threat to their survival, Self-preservation Sixes use their geniality to befriend and align themselves with others to offset the possibility of others turning against them. The passion of fear manifests here in this apprehensiveness around their self-protection.” (Maitri on sp6) How does this apply to Will? Will has a difficult time (read: is completely disinterested in) making himself likable or putting up an affable front. He talks back to Crawford, he threatens Lounds and insults Chilton... This isn't to say Will is always abrasive and rude; he does have his moments of genuine warmth, like with Abigail or with his dogs. But he doesn't try to make himself likable in the face of perceived threats. His way of responding to aggression is rather to simply ignore or discredit the other person, not to appease. The passion of type 6 is doubt, and this doubt is arguably the most pronounced in the sp6 subtype. Aside from a temporary lapse brought on by encephalitis, Will usually shows very little doubt in his own intellect. He is confident in his own skills, certain of his opinions to the point of being adamant about them. His security in his own reasoning is very contradictory with the self-doubt of an sp6, or the passion of doubt in type 6. So if sp6 is out of the question, why not another subtype of 6, like so6 or sx6? The problem is Will doesn't really show the core fixation of type 6. Enneagram 6 is characterized by an orientation to authority, meaning Sixes want to seek the guidance and security of some leader-like figure, structure, or concept. Will doesn't have much of an orientation to authority. I'm guessing that the reason some might believe Will depends on authority is that, as his boss, Jack Crawford is highly demanding of him. But Will doesn't particularly defer to or fear Crawford; he even manipulates him to serve his own agenda. (Continued in replies)
