背景
Maxilla was a female monarch butterfly who appeared in the Season 1 episode "Voyage of the Butterflier XT". The Wild Kratts met her as a caterpillar, and when she emerged into a butterfly, Chris and Martin followed her all the way to Mexico on the Butterflier XT. After surviving the whole journey, she was able to lay an egg, and soon after, died due to the short life cycle of the butterfly. Martin named her child Maxilla Jr. As a butterfly, Maxilla was distinguishable from the other monarch butterflies by her curly antennae as well as a tag placed on her wing by Koki.
