I’ve been sitting on this but why not Ni dom? In “private opinion”, when we see his thoughts, his narration is completely guided by instincts guesses, analyzing his thoughts, processing past information he knew... then coming to a steadfast conclusion. I guess in the anime since you don’t see his thoughts it’s harder to decide he uses an introverted function, but in the manga it’s pretty clear. I definitely don’t think his Ti is inferior either. Fe can be seen in how he reacts pretty strongly to the feelings of others, especially Yut-Lung. But he is not concerned with them to the point his Fe is dominant, his Ni guides him and his Fe is an aid. Fe dom would make their opinions more based on the opinions of others, while a Ni dom would more so go with gut instinct. Ni definitely fits him better.
