Natalie Wynn (ContraPoints) MBTI

For people saying Natalie seems kinda INTP because she uses "logic and philosophy", she indeed does and does it fairly well due to her near PhD in philosophy but if you get to know her motivations for making videos and not pursuing the academic life you'll see she is NOT a Ti Dom. For background, she had a very old (pre-transition) video called "why I left academia" where she explains that she initially was excited to enter a philosophy program because it promised to cover meaningful topics like Truth, Beauty and Justice and initially did so in an exciting broad survey-style of ideas but as she progressed in her program she was expected to narrow down on an increasing limited topic that she said tested her ability to care (sounds like Ne). She also stressed that people in academia (students and professors) weren't prepared to engage in the "real world." She said while they were picking apart the trivial quibbles between Leftist theorists, the introduction of a Right Libertarian, Robert Nozick, to the reading list left the students speechless because they were not prepared to engage in ideas that far outside their typical ivory tower bubble and thus not prepared to engage with the beliefs of ordinary Americans. She also said she found it depressingly boring as an adjunct professor reading endless cryptic, narrow and tediously abstract dissertations on things like "the hermeneutics of post-Kantian phenomenology in object reactions" that she deemed as having no meaningful relevance to the lived world and equated to something like high-minded sudoku for the sheltered middle-class rather than addressing pressing social issues. She concluded that her switch to youtube seemed a better medium for addressing important issues in the public sphere. This relationship to knowledge and logic as *in service to* important, meaningful, real-world and/or experiential problems is the heart of Fi-Te.
