His Ni-Te is clear with the way he planned out their escape in the third episode, especially predicting how Ishido's soldiers would check the carriages and he lays in the tricks to slip out right under their nose. The tertiary Fi backing up the major functions is evident in his motives as to take a stance against the council of regents. His Aux Te and Tertiary Fi is further transparent in the small scene where John teaches Toranaga how to dive and he keeps on asking John to plunge into the water to learn tons of times and doesn't stop even when Mariko asks him to, he says John can only stop when he has learnt it. And when they were competing, while translating Mariko tells John to not let Toranaga win as he hates that. This implies that he is both competitive but morally competitive.
