Sundew does want to be competent, but she doesn't fit anything else about a 5. She doesn't have any sense of greed and wanting to withhold from the world and keep everything of value to herself, fear that she will never be competent and prepared enough, or complete withdrawal and disconnect from emotions in favor of intellectualizing everything. Compare her to 5s in the series like Turtle and Clearsight. Just because someone has a desire for something taken completely out of context doesn't mean they are a certain type, enneagram is about more than just having a desire on the surface, it's about that being a core motivation that influences everything and creates a certain mindset. I'm not sure what type she actually is, you have a point on the 4 trait thing, her being sx 4 could fit with her anger/hate and elitism wanting desperately to have a purpose, though there doesn't seem to be an underlying thinking of herself as flawed and suffering. Instead, she's been taught her whole life that she's defined by her achievement and having powers, which would fit more with 3, even what the commenter below described of her seems to fit 3 more than 5. It might be easy to type her as 8 on a superficial level because of how angry she is, but I can't think of any evidence of the deeper motivations, desires and thought process of one. I'd say right now I'm leaning towards 3 but I would have to reread her book to decide on a type.
