I think he is a type 3. We see that he has a thing about wanting attention and being the best when he absorbs moon pool water and tried out for the swim team. When he later owns part of the cafe he gets caught up in trying to make it more successful, even though it already is successful, and he tries to change the image to something more up scale and glamorous. He does have some type 4 qualities (which is probably his wing) because his desire for a tale appears to be about being unique and special.
