Gibson gauges Tommy's Fi-responses in order to react properly to the same phenomena or stimuli. Being an enneagram Six and lead intuitive, Gibson retreats from immediate sensory experiences, in fear of the uncertainty and unsafeness of current sensory. For example, he refuses to enter the hull of the ship, with Six-fear kicking in and intuition firing off. He understands he's protecting himself when he isolates but still has a sense of Six loyalty and interconnectedness, which is why he reaches out to Tommy and rescues Tommy multiple times, which also supports Gibson's Fe-stance.
