I was quite surprised to see Siegfried voted as a 3w2, though I understand where that vote is coming from! He is accomplish, and competent. However, I don’t believe that he puts his self worth in his achievements out of a shame to prove himself. He doesn’t seem to put his value in status, yet he seems to struggle with expressing his deeper, more vulnerable emotions. Enneagram 8s tend to fight strongly for justice and doing what they believe to be right over admired, which often leaves them challenging the status quo. For instance, one of his clients at the horse showing get upset over his sharpness, yet Siegfried said “The animal comes first, not the person”. And later quit working for the client due to him wanting Siegfried to put the person before the animal, because he didn’t want to compromise his work ethic for a prestigious client. Since 8s come from the anger group, they may often struggle expressing their vulnerable emotions out of fear of being seen as incapable. Which I believe can be seen in Siegfried when in conflict with Tristen he struggles to admit wrong doings, or opening up about the many losses he has experienced. Such as the death of his parents and of his wife. When James recommends upgrading the equipment in season 2, he stands his ground on why his way is the right way, and doesn’t seem to care if people find it old fashioned. I believe if his core was a 3, he would feel more eager to upgrade as to not damage his reputation. I have trouble spotting the core values of the 3 in him, but I believe the core wants of the 8 for independents and control seems to be quite apparent in his character. I could possibly even see an argument for the enneagram type 1! As for functions I think Te Ni Se Fi makes total sense! Thank you for listening to my ramble!
