She's connected with her own feelings more than Chihaya. In season 3, when Chihaya was preparing chocolate for Valentine's Day, when she saw Chihaya crying for Taichi, she came to the conclusion that Chihaya loves Taichi. She interpreted it as she saw her. She found the most likely outcome with her tert Ni, i think. What drives her is her dom Fi. She is very sure of her feelings. Even though Chihaya is an aux Fi user, it took quite a while to understand her own feelings, dude. Lol She joined the club out of her platonic feeling for Taichi.
