Subaru Ayase (綾世昴, Ayase Subaru) Voiced by: Ai Kayano (Japanese); Morgan Lauré (English) Yuu's late mother, who entrusted him to the care of the Mikadono family before her death, hoping he would find happiness and a loving home with them.Subaru Ayase seems to have been a complex character who was highly successful in her career, however, she was too preoccupied with her work as an actress and was unable to take care of her son, Yuu. She often neglected him, not spending much quality time with him. Despite her successful career, she secretly longed for an ordinary happy family life, as revealed when she admitted to the hospital. Subaru loved Yuu's cooking which she want to eat even after hospitalization. As a mother, she was caring towards him as before her death, she left Yuu in the care of her Mikadono, showing her concern for her son's well-being. She also left Yuu with the words to tell him to build a happy family of his own, suggesting she regretted not being able to provide him with a happy family life during her lifetime.
