Todays chapter really shows to me dom Te with good Ni-Se, and I think times of crisis are the best times to see the main functions in action. Se-Ni: “I still fall downward… thought so.” (124) “A traumatic flashback followed by… reversed gravity? Some humans are unaffected. The devil’s name is… Trauma. Gravity. Moon… Suicide… No, this devil makes your hair stand on end. The fear is more primal than that. Falling? Why did she appear here? Is it a coincidence? Or Famine’s interference again?” (124) She not only seems to quickly grasp situations at hand based on objective data (Se) but also quickly interprets and conjectures about causes and patterns beyond just the concrete data (Ni), which is why I don’t rly see her as Ni inferior. Te: She is seen to be domineering and very proactive in her actions (asking out Yoshida and making out with Denji on the fly, constantly commanding Asa to do what she believes is the best course of action) which is often associated with Je-Se in general and makes me think she isn’t a perceiving dominant but a judging dominant. “This is your reality. [Asa turns and runs] I said slowly, you idiot!” - Te thinking in terms of rationality and how to achieve the best possible outcome. A common point in tension between Asa/Yoru is Yoru trying to tell her what to do because it furthers Yoru’s goal/ensures their survival and Asa just not wanting to listen. “Bullying is common… shall I take care of it for you?” (100) Asa: “You’re always jumping to violence…” Yoru: “You aren’t here to make friends… remember, girl?” (101) - Her main method of decision making and thinking in general is in terms of how to get the best possible outcome in a very quick, direct and straightforward way, at least in devil terms.
