背景
All too often, when someone is forced to do something they don't want to do, they will be told, "It's for your own good!" This will usually be said by a parent. Other variations may include "We're doing this because we love you," "We're doing this because we care" or "You'll thank me for this later." It can also be used by someone (usually an adult) justifying why they did something to someone (usually a child), especially when the child thinks it was wrong. In real life, it's generally assumed the adult is right, but fiction usually only highlights the situation when the child is.
