One of the primordial Egyptian gods, spouse and brother to goddess Tefnut, and one of the nine deities of the Ennead of the Heliopolis cosmogony. He was the god of peace, lions, air, and wind. All the other deities, humans and creatures are descendant from him and his sister. He does not approve his children Geb and Nut from marrying each other, and literally keeps them apart by standing between them.
