She is a type 8. I'm guessing she is typed as a 5 because she is a detective, plus how she can be standoffish/tries to take care of her own problems. But a 5 would be much less energetic and more withdrawn. They retreat away from people in order to feel safe, because the world feels too overwhelming and they hoard mental and physical resources/try to minimize their needs. They are risk-averse and tend to live in their heads and observe the real world as an observer. Mare is not the type of person who does any of these things. She is impulsive, prefers action and to deal with problems head on. She is practical, grounded, lives in the present moment and doesn't mentally detach from life. (though yes her trauma of losing her son affects her a lot, but that's completely normal for severe trauma like this) Overall, she is a great character and was really enjoyable to watch.
