I see no arguments for ENTJ, so I’m going to explain ESFP. To begin with, I am only typing him from what we’ve seen (which is very little), but I think his character is distinct. I will provide evidence for my analysis (as in including quotes/actions etc). Se dominant: When Ivan is introduced (ch2), the author makes it clear that Ivan upholds the thief archetype: aggressive, dangerous, cheeky, and success-driven. We see him holding a bottle — which turns out to be empty. He then smashes the object onto an old man’s head. From this alone, we can tell that is he drinks and that he is adaptable. This is an example of Se since Se is to be engaged with the direct present, which correlates to being highly adaptable. We see more of this in the same chapter (when Ivan runs away with Rwanda). Ivan senses that the tension is rising and taunts Rwanda, to which Rwanda attempts to pull his knife. Turns out Ivan had stolen his materials, heavily implying that Ivan is incredibly observant. He then throws Rwanda’s knife onto the ground, knowing that Rwanda would reach for it. Falling into Ivan’s trap, Rwanda gets punished with a kick in the face. This is another example of high adaptability from Ivan. Eventually, Ivan gets dragged into the water, and then the two fight it out. This could be evidence for Se as it shows Ivan’s inability to foresee dangers (he taunts Rwanda without expecting anything to happen to him). After the fight, Ivan states: “I’m looking out fer you ‘cause Mr. Midwinter told me to! I was wondering what kind of guy you were”. Even though Midwinter warned him to be observant, this is still an example of Se since Ivan paid attention to even the smallest details (examples: assuming Rwanda is rich because of his attitude, noticing Rwanda relies on his knife, stealing knife + bottle, reading Rwanda’s body language). Moving on, the front page of ch3 shows Ivan with a quote: “Where I go and what I do... It changes with the wind.” Cont.. (1/?) [Look in replies]
