I can be wrong about this, but I think I see ENTJ more over ESTJ? (I wrote under why I think William is an sp 1. click view reply to see it!) edit: changed my vote to 1w2 since it makes more sense in terms of what william values and who he is. From what I've observed about the ni-se axis he's on, William seems to connect the dots with ease, while utilizing se. he reads people quite easily and while you could argue that since he's a cop, he's seen a lot of stuff and could use si in order to help him in the moment, I just don't see it too much. If he had ne, I feel like he'd connect more things together and be more expansive in his conclusions(?) I'm not sure how to word this, but it seems like he's more concrete and consistent with what he comes to the conclusions of. An example that I would think of where William doesn't take the situation at face-value and continues to find the root of the problem is when the Gray fox is dead in the cell, and Sam has something on his mind. William tries to make Sam feel better, but William does it through te-ni-se-fi methods: mentions leviticus to reassure sam, reassures sam that the young fox is dead, but knows that there's more to why Sam is mentioning this topic. William reads in-between the lines and I think that's a part of his character and why he's such a good cop, because he knows that there's more to why this thing is happening, than what meets the eye (ni). even for a joke (or not), he says that he feels sam wouldn't get enough sleep due to a "hunch". he also connects dots to the young fox having a weapon back to an adult giving him the weapon. even for myself, I wouldn't have thought that. I could come to that conclusion potentially as an ni user, but I would think moreso that he could have stolen it, bought it, or was given it. (the lack of te I have is showing lol.) but overall, another trait I would say is that William is always a step ahead, said by sam, so. that could be a weaker case for te-ni, but shrug. another example is when william wants to play poker with sam. William wants sam to be able to read people better and knows the reason as to why. (note, he knows that sam can read people, but mentions that sam does it when he wants to.) he's setting up a plan in order to help sam feel more confident because he knows sam is quite the paranoid person. I think he also does this so that sam can feel more secure within himself and not be caught in another situation with Jack. William cares for Sam lots and William shows this by preparing Sam and trying to make Sam feel more confident within himself. William also mentions that people in this town are nutjobs and aren't safe to be around, so that could be another reason to add as to why William is preparing Sam. William is trying to prepare and avoid problems that could result in something happening to someone he loves. (te-ni-fi) If I recall, Sam wonders why William is doing all this for him, but William does it out of caring and values Sam. he tries to be considerate of who sam is and even becomes frustrated when sam is becoming paranoid while in the jail with the dead fox because william tried to avoid making sam paranoid. I would think the reason being is because he knows what sam is like and it would cause sam not to communicate with william properly. I'm not too sure on the reason why, but it's somewhat similar to that. overall, I just don't see si that much in William. The guy reads situations with ease, connects the dots, and comes to accurate conclusions based off of what he's observed. I haven't finished the game, but overall, these are my thoughts for now. I can continue writing more later on!
