背景
The antagonist of the novel. He is a retired author who has found a renewed passion for life through alcohol. He was the reasoning of Hazel and Augustus' trip to Amsterdam and their visit with him changed their perspective on the book and their own lives. However, even though Peter is not the most friendly person in the world, he does have some justification for his actions. His daughter passed away at a young age and his wife left him. He has no other family, so of course he is going to need something to rely on. After Augustus' death, he realizes the mistakes that he has made and genuinely seems like he wants to make a change with his life. He has the most concealed personality in the novel.
