I type Noah Sebastian as an INFP because of the way he talks about his music and the connection between his work and his identity. It’s not just because he’s private or writes emotional lyrics. It’s the fact that personal honesty seems to come before everything else for him. When Noah talked about Bad Omens’ first album, he said parts of it were written by “a version of me that I’m not proud of.” That sounds like Fi because he was judging the music through his relationship with his past self. It wasn’t simply about whether the album still sounded good. He was looking at whether it represented the person he wanted to be. In the same interview, he said, “Either way, it’ll be authentic,” when talking about whether he would remain in a more positive headspace. He also said the first album connected with people because “it was honest.” That focus on being true to his actual emotional state, even when that state changes, is one of the main reasons I see dominant Fi in him. His Ne shows in the way he approaches music. Noah has said that Bad Omens’ sound is so diverse because he loves many different kinds of music and has a lot he wants to write about. He doesn’t seem interested in choosing one genre and repeating it. Each idea is allowed to become whatever sound expresses it best. He’s also said that the music needs to be “parallel to the lyrics and subject matter.” That explains why a vulnerable song like “Enough, Enough Now” sounds completely different from an aggressive song like “Malice.” He isn’t changing styles randomly. The emotion decides where the song goes, and then he explores the musical possibilities within it. His comments about “Just Pretend” make the Ne even clearer. He said it could have been “a huge hit as a country song” or worked as “an indie bedroom pop song” if another artist had approached it differently. He doesn’t view the song as permanently attached to one genre. He can immediately imagine other versions of the same idea and see how it might develop in completely different directions. His Si comes through in how closely he pays attention to the feeling of specific details. When discussing the vocals in “Just Pretend,” he singled out the falsetto, the vibrato at the ends of certain words, and how naturally the melody felt when he sang it. Those might seem like tiny details, but to him they’re part of what makes people emotionally feel the performance. Then there’s his Te. Noah is clearly organized and extremely particular about his work, but that organization seems to exist because he wants the final product to match what he has in his head. Bad Omens spent months choosing the band’s name because they wanted every part of the project to feel right. Even when they photographed handwritten lyrics for a contest, they created a backdrop and properly staged the pictures. That’s why his perfectionism doesn’t work against the INFP typing. INFPs aren’t automatically disorganized or unable to execute their ideas. Noah’s Te seems highly developed because he has spent years producing music and overseeing the band’s creative direction. He uses structure, technical knowledge, and careful planning to give his internal ideas a physical form. So the pattern I see is Fi–Ne–Si–Te. He starts with something personally honest, explores all the different forms it could take, pays close attention to whether the details preserve the original feeling, and then uses planning and technical skill to finish it properly. That’s what makes INFP convincing for Noah—not his appearance, his lyrics by themselves, or the usual “quiet, sensitive artist” stereotype. A lot of people typing Noah as an INTP are only looking at the technicality and symbolism in his songwriting, but those qualities are not exclusive to INTP styles of writing and music producing. Also, he is emotionally private but that isn't the same as emotionally detached. INFP's are intellectualize their feelings and can seem more logical too.
