SOCIAL SEVEN TRAIT STRUCTURE Narcissism Narcissism refers here to a self-referrential tendency in the Social E7's relationship with reality. As if happenings, experiences and people were subordinated, on an implicit manner, to his existential project. In sum, the narcissism of the Social E7 manifests along two fundamental dimensions: the self-referrentiality, and grandiosity, fruit of the identification with his ideal self. Egoism Helping through sacrifice is actually a narcissistic mode imbued of egoism and exploitation of others, in an unconscious way and with apparent disinterest. There's an ambivalence in relationships between friends and partners. On one hand, there's an effort in making so that one's ideal of relationship is corresponded (where one is good, a savior, and there is no frustration). But, nevertheless, in not being able to open painful or problematic aspects (that don't fit the ideal), there's a deep conviction that they aren't truthful... when in reality it's himself that is being false not to be rejected. In the Social Seven, the excessive dependency in pleasure and the exaggerated avoidance of pain and frustration are sustained by an automatic scheme of seductive complacency to the other as a way to capture and receive attention. On a social level this strategy is explicit in presenting oneself as good and serviceable, apparently sacrificed to the needs of the other. Good and serviceable are many characters in the Enneagram, but the only one that makes a carrer out of saintliness is the Social Seven. Brings to himself the goodness and service to others with an aggressive internal narcissism, that seeks extraordinariness. Who is it that's more good than a saint? Who, more extraordinary than a saint? The saint is one who has been recognized by the community. To the Social Seven there is no interest in being such only in intimacy, but wants to be recognized in the public square.
