There was a time when people believed Te and Fe base were viable, and those takes have been debunked. Recently there’s another wave of takes about how SO7 fits Ni base type like ILI and IEI. Of course, like the SX7 Ni base takes, these people use mental gymnastics and exaggerate certain aspects of SO7, particularly about their supposed schizoid and withdrawal tendencies to prove how “Ni base” this subtype is. Which is completely missing the point of why SO7 is called E7 in the first place. E7 comes from the Head triad, a set of types that Naranjo called “schizoid” due to their withdrawal, schizoid, yet intellectual tendencies to confront the world. Head types perceive the world as a dangerous, painful, and harmful place to be, prompting them to use their mind capacity when interacting with the outside world. Due to its position next to E8 (a Gut triad), this neurotic tendencies of E7 gets influenced with the anti-inwardness and ontic obscuration of Gut types and the concrete excessive pleasure-seeking of E8, making E7 somewhat a contradictory character; using their mind capacity to navigate the world yet lacking introspection to do it. With this in mind, we can understand its fixation, Planning, as a cognitive distortion to constantly dream (plan) for an ideal world free of pain. Lack of introspection means that this Planning is naturally oriented outwards, escaping themselves in the process. 背景
As the countertype, Social Sevens go against the passion of gluttony through conscientious efforts to be of service to others. Conscious of wanting to avoid exploiting others, they have a need to be good and pure and to sacrifice their own needs in supporting the needs of others. They have a passion for being seen as good for the sacrifice of their own desires. They express an ascetic ideal and make a virtue of getting by on little.
