Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a sequel to the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the 2014 film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the 2017 War for the Planet of the Apes. It was announced on April 3, 2019 by 20th Century Studios and its new parent company, the Walt Disney Company. No release date or further details were announced. In June 2022, it was given the provisional title The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.[1] In September 2022, the title was shorten to Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and begins production in October with the release date set for May 2024.[2]
