Red Velvet is a girl group under SM Entertainment. The team name contains the aspiration to present colorful and sophisticated music and performances, like the sensual image reminiscent of the intense color Red and the soft Velvet. Red Velvet was voted one of the world's most popular K-pop idols by Time and Billboard, and has won several awards, including the 2015 Golden Disc Rookie of the Year and the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards Female Group Award. After the release of The ReVe Festival trilogy, Red Velvet became the first Korean female idol to reach number one on the US iTunes album chart, becoming the first girl group to achieve number one three times in a row in the same month. At the 2019 Asian Artist Awards, Umpah Umpah was selected as the Song of the Year, and Red Velvet was selected as the Asian Celebrity Singer. It also won the Stage of the Year award at the 2019 Soribada Best K-Music Awards.
