What personality type is Iroha Nijiue? Iroha Nijiue is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sp/sx - 694 in Enneagram, in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.
Seeing Iroha voted as E9 has confused me from the very moment I saw it since,to me,she's a clear E6. Let's begin by clearing out the main differences between E9 and E6. E9:Passion of Sloth. They forget themselves and "merge" with something else,whether that be a person,an activity or a group of people. They tend to be accomodating and agreeable to others,putting everyone else above themselves. E6:Passion of Fear. They feel the need to feel "protected" and "sheltered". They feel a subconscious need to protect themselves from the world,whether that be through being extra nice and kind,rebellious or responsible. E6 tend to be very dependent on other people,especially figures of authority. With that out of the way,let's take a look to Iroha's character! Initially,she is portrayed as a kind,gentle girl who wants to be friends with everyone around her. She tries to remain optimistic and positive whenever she's faced with any kind of issue and tries to cheer the others up. This,by itself,could look like E9 behaviour,since E9 are in the positive triad,so they tend to act quite optimistic. However,remember— This is not Iroha's true personality. The true Iroha is only concerned about one thing: Saving herself. She persuaded a fellow Void member to try and kill for her because she did not want to do it. She was scared. The true Iroha is EXTREMELY co-dependent on others,and she tries to avoid her problems and her own issues at all costs by pushing them onto other people. She also did not hesitate to push Sora (Her supposed friend) from the Tower of Babel,just to save herself. These actions are the complete OPPOSITE of E9. A self-forgetting,accomodating,"lazy" E9 wouldn't have even THOUGHT about doing any of these things. However,a E6 who's scared of being abandoned by their peers definitely would. Not only that,but also,looking at E9 subtypes,none of them particularly fit Iroha. Sp9's are physical,concrete people who turn to a specific activity to forget themselves. Sure,one might argue that drawing could be that "special activity" for Iroha,but remember that Iroha never actually used drawing as a escape mechanism. Quite the opposite in fact,she saw it as a chain,as an uncomfortable thing that she was FORCED to do. So frankly,sp9 is out of the question. So9 would also not fit,since they tend to be extremely hardworking and sociable and leader-like,all for the sake of the group. We never see this in Iroha,we never see her doing anything for everyone else's own good. We only ever see her do things that benefit her and ensure her OWN safety. And lastly,sx9 is completely out of the question,since sx9 tend to merge with one specific person and try to accommodate to their agenda. Iroha does the opposite of this. Iroha has an internal conflict because she doesn't know who to trust– she doesn't know who'll keep her safer. Void or the others. Long story short: None of the E9 subtypes fit Iroha. However,with E6,one particular subtype stands out as describing Iroha quite well: Sp6. The most "phobic" E6,they fear not being protected. They perceive the world as a dangerous place and so,in order to protect themselves from this,they try to act as amicable and kind as they possibly can,they try to make themselves a "good ally". When by themselves,sp6 feel alone,unprotected– So they turn to others for warmth and support,and their way to do this is bring warm and supportive. They are extremely indecisive and tend to doubt themselves often. Doesn't all of this sound exactly like Iroha? She tries to act friendly and optimistic in order to avoid any kind of confrontation. She is hesitant when trying to pick a side,and she doesn't feel capable of killing,so she tries to get Nikei to do it. Her entire character arc screams sp6 to me,personally. However,this is not to say that I'm right and everyone else is wrong,not at all!! This is just my personal perspective on Iroha,her character,and her typing,and everyone else is entitled to their own opinion :)
