Death of both parents and his sibling sent him into unending loop of changing places and people in his. Orphanage to orphanage, town to town. The lack of meaningful connections with other people forced him to lock himself inside his own head, where he is constantly forcing himself to think and to feel that he doesn't care about what happens around him and what other people think about him. The urge of forming a special bonds with others is very crucial for sx5 users, as without them they feel shallow and empty inside. Sx5 have the same characteristics of the 5 just with a more leaning into people and trust instead of simply isolating themselves from the outside world as with the sp5. The crucial point to understand is what was the reason behind Yuki's emotional emptiness. I feel as if he tries to not let anyone near him not because he truly thinks that human interactions are useless and too overwhelming, but because he doesn't want to get hurt like he did in the past, when he had to constantly change orphanages and therefore didn't have any real friends.
