Vergil MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Vergil? Vergil is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sx/so - 614 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.

I haven't really played Devil May Cry (outside of various plot synopsis), so forgive me if I get something wrong here. But I have a hard time believing that Vergil is an Enneagram 8 (and most INTJs who type themselves that way for that matter). Didn’t Vergil try to obtain more power as a way to get obtain competency and security in his own life (since his mother abandoned him)? That's not typically a Type 8 reaction to those sort of circumstances. The reason I state this is because whenever I see an INTJ with an enneagram 8 type, I raise a bit of an eyebrow. Not because INTJ E8s *can't* exist, but I think it's just due to people having a misunderstanding of the Enneagram system itself. Enneagram 8s value freedom above all else, and will obtain power by whatever means to keep it that way. From what I've seen, Vergil isn't really looking for "freedom" per-se (and I’d argue most INTJs feel the same way) but he instead values competency in order to feel secure. That's actually something more akin to Enneagram 5s, who tend to "horde" resources because they feel the "outer world" demands too much of them. This is where the stereotype comes from. Of course, when people think of Enneagram 5s, they tend to view them as strictly hording "knowledge," or just things in the intellectual area. But that's far from the case. Enneagram 5s will isolate themselves until they deem themselves competent in whatever field they study. This can be martial arts, medicine, fitness, hunting, dancing, nerd stuff, reading, etc. Whatever subjects they value. INTJs are worse in this aspect, because of Se inferior. Since extroverted sensing is connected to introverted intuition, if Ni is the dominant function than it means whatever actions the INTJ involves themselves in reflects on their character. So naturally, if they perform badly in whatever they value, it hurts them as a person. INTJs are actually deeply insecure in this way, and I'd argue this is why *most* INTJs are Enneagram 5s (due to this performance anxiety). Vergil is clearly insecure about his strength, and sees his own weaknesses as a flaw he finds in his actual character. This inspires him to isolate, and use whatever methods he sees fit to get him that emotional security. But it's still insecurity, and I'd argue this insecurity is more representative in Enneagram 5s. So overall, I think Vergil is an Enneagram 5w6. It should also be noted that Enneagram 5s take on aspects of Enneagram 8s when they mature, and begin to take more action in their lives. Vergil is getting older, so it could be that he is maturing too. It's also possible that Vergil has an enneagram 8 in his tri-type, but I would disagree that it's his core type.
