Although he speaks hopelessly and sadly, he can see that there are still options for him somewhere inside. Asking Victor for a wife, getting to the point where he thinks that she will complete him and still trying to understand how to be human... If we look at how he behaves, he may seem like a Se user, but there is a pure character who has not received love and still has not learned how to behave fully. So everything he does not determine his character. I think we should more consider the path he took.
