What personality type is Belphegor? Belphegor is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sp/sx - 964 in Enneagram, RLUEN in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
I do not think Belphegor is an E9. E9s work to maintain harmony by not letting anything distress them. They are naturally trusting and tend to ignore potential points of conflict. Belphegor was the only student council member against the exchange program, and he took direct action by attempting to convince Lucifer to call it off. When Lucifer refused, Belphegor flew into a rage and threatened to destroy the human world and everyone in it, needing to be subdued and imprisoned in the attic. This shows us Belphegor is temperamental, and not afraid of igniting conflict, both traits which are in direct opposition to the E9’s desire to maintain internal and external peace. Let’s move our focus towards E6. Like the E9, the E6 also tries to maintain their inner peace, but they go about it differently. E6s are constantly on the lookout for any potential vectors of danger so that they may guard themselves. The E6’s core focus means they believe the world to be dangerous and threatening. Logically, they have a much harder time trusting people and are more easily upset by small things. The prospect of problems makes the E6 nervous, which can’t be said for the E9, who will resist being upset by anything as long as possible. Belphegor is temperamental in nature and riddled with trust issues. He is not afraid of getting upset. This is why I think it is much more likely that Belphegor is an E6, more specifically an sx6. This misidentification is understandable considering sx6 is the most counterphobic E6 variant. Belphegor held negative feelings towards MC from the very beginning. Belphegor’s murder of MC was premeditated. This is in direct correlation with the cynical nature of the sx6. Instead of actively feeling fearful, sx6s believe that when afraid, the best defense is a good offense. This, as well as the fact that sx6s tend to be rebellious against authority they do not trust, are good explanations as to why Belphegor felt the way he did about Lucifer. When Lucifer refused to call off the exchange program, he shifted from being a trustworthy authority figure to an untrustworthy authority figure, explaining Belphegor’s rage.
Biography
The youngest of the brothers and the Avatar of Sloth, he seems to be rebelling against Lucifer. His twin brother is Beelzebub.
