What personality type is Asmodeus? Asmodeus is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 3w2 - sx/so - 378 in Enneagram, SLOEN in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
Asmodeus is an sx/so 2w3. It is somewhat understandable why people have voted him as an sx3 because of his vanity and the way he used his looks and charm to seduce, however, these traits can also be used to describe an sx2, so we must look deeper. To understand the differences between an sx3 and an sx2, we need to look at Asmo’s motivations. The sx2 seduces to have their needs met. Asmodeus demonstrates a constant thirst for attention as he seduces MC and blatantly makes comments about his beauty in front of his brothers. He directly and unashamedly pleads for MC’s attention through various chat messages: “If you don’t come over, I’ll probably start crying on account of how lonely I am.” - The sx2 feeds their pride by receiving (passionate) attention from someone. This differs from an sx3 who promotes and supports others to feel proud. “You should all be regarding ME as the treasure of the Devildom <3” - The sx2 wants to be pleased by others while the sx3 wants to please others. Asmo feels entitled to the attention that he craves (sx2) rather than feeling the need to bend to others to receive attention (sx3). “I wanted to make you miss me, but I’m the one dying of loneliness.” “Tell me you love me. I’m always saying it to you, but you never really say it back. I want to hear it from you sometimes too, you know? May I?” - An sx2 is unafraid to embrace their attention-seeking nature. The sx2 charms and seduces to fulfill their need to be desired and to please themselves. The sx3 charms and seduces to please others and receive love. An sx2 holds the mindset that they deserve the love of others while an sx3 feels that they need to earn the love of others. At no point in the game thus far (feel free to correct me if you have quotes from the game proving otherwise) has Asmo shown the sx3 trait of needing to earn love rather than being entitled to it. Looking at the personality traits associated with sx2 and sx3, it becomes even clearer that Asmo is an obvious depiction of an sx2. Unlike sx3, Asmo is not shy or ashamed to speak highly of himself. He does not struggle to promote himself and he does not naturally fall into the role of a “supporter,” “helper,” or “server.” Like an sx2, Asmo is vocal about his attention-seeking. Speaking highly about himself comes naturally. He is vocal about his needs and blatantly uses his looks to justify having his needs met. Asmo is direct, dramatic, sometimes selfish, and flamboyant… all sx2 traits that have no overlap with sx3. True to the sin he represents, Asmodeus is dangerously irresistible. Finally, the sx2 seduces in hopes that they will find “the one.” They believe that their charm can help them attract a person who will be able to fulfill all of their needs (in Asmo’s case, the need to be desired). When the person the sx2 craves attention from returns their advances, their selfishness, and widescale attention-seeking will more than likely begin to ebb. In conclusion, Asmodeus is an incredible and complex character who owns my heart. Also, he is 100% an sx2. Goodnight.
