Aled Last MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Aled Last? Aled Last is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sp/sx - 945 in Enneagram, RLOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.

So I am admittedly not the best at typing people, but I’m pretty sure Aled is an INFP, not an INFJ Fi - Aled is super connected to what he personally feels and he tends to internalise it, rather than project it outwards like an Fe user would, which is why he can seem aloof to people who don’t know him well. The only place where he truly shows his emotions is on Universe City. That being said, he seems to always know what he is personally feeling and is less in tune with others’ emotions, for example when he believes that Frances is in love/obsessed with him. He is also quite awkward in big social situations which is more of an Fi thing rather than Fe. He definitely values being his authentic self and is most comfortable when he is expressing that, either on Universe City or when he is with Frances. Ne - The way Aled writes and creates Universe City seems very Fi-Ne to me. He most often plans each episode as they come rather than creating a larger narrative to develop over time, showing the more spontaneously creative nature of Ne users. When he and Frances get together to plan Universe City, they brainstorm for literal hours, coming up with loads of different potential side characters and plots. The February Friday segments in particular I think really demonstrate his Fi-Ne process. The whole point of those parts is for Aled to have a place to express his most raw emotions authentically in a very random and disjointed way which makes very little sense to others, as he jumps sporadically from idea to idea. Si - Being his tertiary function, some parts of Aled’s Si are more developed than others. Aled definitely rejects societal norms, such as going to university, in favour of a more unconventional path, showing less Si. He knows that uni isn’t right for him even before he goes, showing how in touch he is with his own values and opinions. He does show some Si, though, as many of his actions are influenced by past experiences, specifically Carys’ disappearance, which is a huge catalyst for basically everything he does - he definitely partially uses past events to guide him through the present. In this way, his Si assists his Fi, as Carys leaving definitely influences how he expresses and understands his own emotions. Te - Aled’s Te is actually a huge part of why I think he’s an INFP. As the book progresses it would make sense for Aled to fall into a loop or grip, as he is definitely stressed. A lot of what happens to him sounds like a Te grip. Completely opposite to his usual calm demeanour, he becomes extremely quick to anger when Frances tries to talk to him about, well, anything really. He also closes off his own emotions to himself, neglecting his Fi and Ne, to the extent that he can’t even make Universe City anymore. He represses his feelings entirely and locks himself away. If Aled were an INFJ, we would likely see him becoming more reckless and overindulgent. Again, I’m not an mbti expert so some of what I’ve said might be inaccurate but there’s my two cents on Aled being an INFP. I think quite a lot of what people probably see as Fe could be easily attributed to his 9w1 enneagram
