Maybe I'm biased, but he always struck me as ISFJ. Him being relatable doesn't mean he's automatically the same type as me, but I just don't really see why people usually type him as xNFP. Cute/shy anime boy =/= xNFP. Unhealthy Si-Ne is there in the beginning. While most people at the school were afraid to speak up, he was willing to let the (physical) abuse continue, thinking it would be no use to try and change the situation. It could be conditioning due to the abuse, but it was often with the thought of: "it would cause too much trouble, the situation won't change, it going to stay this way". It wasn't until after he and the rest of the school were saved that it changed this views (seeing actual results) and inspired him to make changes in his life. His Fe becomes more clear once he gets saved and starts the Phan Site. He wants to help other people that have been in the same position as he has. It originally starts with good intentions, wanting to help others, but soon becomes a bit of an ego trip (unhealthy Fe, wanting recognition and something in return for his actions, being part of the Phantom Thieves). He needs to get reminded why he started doing this in the first place, which ultimately leads him to learn from his mistakes and be better for the future (healthy Si-Ne). I'm still sorta new to typing and looking at functions in depth, but pretty sure he's ISFJ, or at least an Fe user. I don't really see xNFP and him being a bit quirky isn't enough of a reason, imo.
