She is an anthropomorphic tenrec with villainous and modified cyborg enhancements implanted by Dr. Starline and with no memories of her past, and the companion of Kitsunami the Fennec. She was made for the sole intended purpose of destroying Sonic the Hedgehog and replacing him as the hero of the world. However, after discovering the secret of her origin, Surge would begin seeking revenge on everyone she blames for her past life being taken away from her. Surge possesses Sonic's indomitable and free spirit, albeit in a twisted and sinister way. She is a roguish speedster with an arrogant, cocky, and hot-tempered disposition, taking great pride in her prowess and bragging at any given opportunity.
