What personality type is Rei Izumi? Rei Izumi is an ENFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - so/sx - 972 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
First off, I think his Fe-dom is very strong and apparent, it just seems to me that he gets stimulated by outside feelings very easily (every time he sees Towa not doing well, or his other friends getting injured during Deathmatches, protecting Mizuno from Nakamura, etc.) And also, his Ti-inf came up when he was in deep shit (discovering his father gathered and passed him a HUGE debt o_0), so he decided it's best to go all-or-nothing and fight those Deathmatches where one party had to die (forgot the name, iykyk). And that Ti feels kind of stupid to me (I guess Rei had no other realistic choice either tho). Or the time he wanted to cut his dick off, because that would solve his gender dysphoria-like thingie? Idk. Point is, that logic is fucked up lol ----- I am not sure about the aux and tert functions, since it's kind of mixed up? My guess is ENFJ because I think his biggest insecurities come from what he has learned about society and gender norms. What's familiar to most people. And that feels kind of Si to me, so I'd put it somewhere behind, like shadow functions. I'm not seeing where else this problem could stem from (so origins other than memories and the average gender standards + what he has been told as a kid). So that would make him Fe Ni Se Ti That could also explain why Rei likes Deathmatches. For the Se-tetr, getting sensory input right here and right now feels good and controllable + it's kind of a hangout activity, which is a bonus for Fe. However, I can't confidently say anything for Ni, which should be the second most important function in theory, so I don't doubt him being an ESFJ instead - but that goes against his insecurities, so idk? Maybe I'm just thinking about Rei's trauma too cognitive-wise and that ruins the pattern. ---- Also, if talking about him being ESFJ, I'd be really curious to discuss it. Thanks for reading! Biography
One of the main characters of Slow Damage. He currently works both as a bartender at Roost and he mostly spends his nights in the bar with his friends. He is also a part-timer at Murase Clinic. Aside from those jobs, he also participates in Deathmatches and has made a name as a strong contestant in the game. He is in a team with Arata, Junko, and Honami. He has mixed ancestry, due to being born to an English mother and a Japanese father.
