Shiina doesn't seem to be a person who aggressively seeks love from others. However, when she knows Fujimiya is a good person, she starts to find ways to integrate into his inner circle. She cooks for him, even though this action is suitable only for a loving couple. Moreover, when he needs help, she is always there to lend a hand (Fujimiya tried to clean his messy house, and Mahiru helped him out). Although she claimed her acting with altruism, she couldn't hide that she desperately sought a close relationship with somebody. By helping Fujimiya out, as which he struggled (poorly-nutritious diet and disordered house), Mahiru can subtly and steadily attach emotional strings to him.
