The learning system in medical school is fundamentally different from the scientific thought process. The scientific method is akin to exploring, to formulate and test hypotheses. But what medical schools need is systematic learning to deal with massive amounts of information to be applied to patients to ensure the standard treatment is being given. There's not so many room for exploring unless you are in a research path. So, Te is very helpful in becoming an organized freak that medical school loves, and Si is useful both in remembering the tremendous amount of irrelevant details and performing detailed medical procedures. Therefore, I don't recommend people with INXP type who can visualize themselves in other careers to become doctors. They may feel stressed by the medical education system and working environment.
