Sanguine-Melancholic (SanMel) MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Sanguine-Melancholic (SanMel)? Sanguine-Melancholic (SanMel) is an ENFP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sx/so - 479 in Enneagram, SLUAI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
I think san-mel fits with either ENFP or very unexpectedly, ESTP. The former fits well with melancholic's love for ideas and pondering about things, considering that they has high Ne. Basically ENFP is a sanguine that daydream more than going out to seek challenges. ESTP, meanwhile, fits with melancholic's tendency to analyze things and follows their reason (Ti). So imagine someone who lives for trying new stuffs and seeking thrills, but also asking “why does it work that way, it's unlike what I understand” instead of blindly accepting what works. And with its tert-Fe, it would be more conflict averse than ESFP. However, this description of ESTP is so detached from the usual one, the ESTP-as-a-backyard-bully. As for ESFJ, I think it's rather un-melancholic, especially because of dom-Fe. Sure they tend to play safe like melancholics usually do, but they're social chameleons, people-persons who harmonize well with their ‘audiences’.
Biography
The Sanguine-Melancholy is driven by two temperament needs. The primary need is to be accepted socially. The secondary need is to do things right. Either need may dominate their behavior depending on the requirements of the situation. When the Sanguine and the Melancholy natural tendencies are combined, it produces a people-person who is sensitive, creative, and detail-oriented. The Sanguine-Melancholy is more formal and emotional than the other Sanguine blends. This combination is naturally able to perform in front of others to meet the need of the moment. The Sanguine-Melancholy is a frequently found pattern. The Sanguine-Melancholy needs to be with people most of the time, but some of the time they need to be alone. When alone they will likely think, review, plan, and be creative. They need information, time to think, and a plan; they function best, and more effectively, when they have a detailed plan.
