with the constant rise of ISTP votes coming from people who don't know about cognitive functions, or the system we use here, i feel the need to make my argument about why jisung is not an ISTP. i definitely don't blame people for not knowing, especially with jisung being obsessed with this ISTP label!! i wish i could remove 16p from his brain lol i won't explain cognitive functions in general, but i will explain how the functions for ENTP (ne-ti-fe-si) apply to him. so: ne: this is an incredibly obvious function is jisung. he uses it in a very.. stereotypical way. he's amazing at brainstorming, & his thoughts always seem scattered, all over the place; this is obvious not only in the way he talks, but also in how he discusses topics, even his humour makes his ne very apparent. i usually wouldn't compare people to each other when it comes to typing someone, but just to prove my point: chan, an obvious ni user, seems very direct when he talks. while he might not go straight to the point, his thoughts always find some sort of converging point when he discusses them. changbin, a strong se user, discusses things in the "here & now": he focuses on what's physically around him, what's tangible & present, something that jisung, if he were an actual ISTP, would do as well. however, he doesn't: he focuses on possibilities, on what's "out there"; he's incredibly entertaining because he's unconventional. his work pattern also seems related to ne, but i'll get to this when i explain his inferior si. ti: this was tricky to figure out, because i can totally understand why most people believe he's an ENFP, which i'm not completely opposed to. however: he rarely seems to discuss matters of moral nature, nor does he really share his opinions unless he's being asked. one thing i've noticed about fi users is that they can't seem to help but constantly share their opinions, even in a subtle way. jisung seems to use a more logical path; logic is always associated with "being serious & lacking emotions", for some reason, when it's actually about analyzing data & taking into account what makes sense to reach a conclusion. so instead of focusing on how he feels about something, he discusses the meaning behind it. fe: keep in mind that this is his tertiary function. [this is my opinion, but] the only skz member whose tert function is really well developed is changbin, & maybe chan, so it's normal that his fe won't be apparent. from what i've gathered: given that he doesn't have the strong moral filter that fi users normally have, he seems much more flexible with how he handles moral issues. i don't have ways to explain this other than "he goes with the flow". this could definitely be his gut fix (as e9 is exactly about going with the flow), but if we're comparing functions, he definitely seems to have more fe than te. he seems more concerned with how the people around him will be affected by his actions, rather than the other way around. i am by no means saying that fi users are incapable of doing this, but it seems that he relies on what little fe he has to hold back when he believes that he's overstepping with his humour. si: inferior si is all. over. his lyrics. when someone is in a si grip, they believe that they're going to be stuck in the situation they're in forever, or they rely on familiarity for comfort when new situations scare them, rather than excite them. small translated excerpt from 19: "if this moment passes, what if it gets far away? / what if i never see the me of right now again? / i just wanna go / back, back, back, back, back, back / back to the past". with inferior si also comes a lack of organization (caused by dominant ne): he has mentioned that he enjoys starting multiple projects at the same time, but finishing them is a lot harder. he also doesn't make specific time to work on songs (i believe this was said when 3racha were discussing the differences between how they work), he simply comes up with lyrics & melodies randomly. he's not organized not only because he doesn't feel the need to, but also because he's not good at it. alright, that's all. if anyone wants me to elaborate on anything i said feel free to ask, but i'd rather not discuss how impossible of a combo ENTP + e4 is. EDIT: i wanna add something about his tritype fix; i'm starting to doubt that he has a 6 fix because he doesn't seem to have that kind of cautiousness. he values loyalty & he needs to belong somewhere (his sense of belonging is found in skz), but he doesn't ever come prepared, not like a 6 would. i think 7 might fit him better, especially in combination with 4: he doesn't discard negative emotions because he believes them to be necessary, but he still focuses on the positive side of things & keeps his options open.
