Louis is a very clear example of an ENFP. His fans know that he is a very random and spontaneous person, always spitting out the most random things during interviews. He is extremely playful and teasing, always joking around. He was considered the band’s most dedicated and creative songwriters, offering his songwriting skills since the early days. There’s no doubt he’s an Ne dom. His songs scream Fi. ‘Defenceless’ is about him being vulnerable and wanting to show his true self. His album shows the recurring theme of honesty, vulnerability and authenticity. ‘Walls’ is another song about showing his true self. ‘Don’t let it break your heart’ is a very Fi song - inspiring others to keep on going and be themselves, staying strong even when life gets hard. Louis has gone through it all, he’s battled the hardships of loss of two very close family members, and has projected his entire soul into songs that display his vulnerability in many forms. In ‘We Made It’ Louis sings about his hopes and dreams; combined with memories of love, adventure and youth scattered throughout the song. He stays true to himself. There’s no doubt. His Fi is used quite healthily. Maybe not in the past, but now that he’s a fully grown and mature man he’s definitely a healthy example of an Fi user. When One Direction went on their hiatus, he was the one who fought to keep his band together. He was the one who fought to continue, who didnt like the idea of a ‘hiatus’. His entire solo career is just him fighting for self-expression and authenticity. He HATES being trapped in a role that doesn’t make him feel like himself. He wanted the world to see the true HIM. Very Fi. Moving on to his Te. Louis has aways been the ‘leader’ of the band, while also - simultaneously and paradoxically - being the most ‘childish’ and ‘playful’. Sound familiar, my fellow ENFPs? He’s managed to do his fair share in being both roles, and there’s nothing more ENFP than that. And he did it perfectly. At times he was very responsible, all the boys looked up to him as the leader. He also grew up with many, many younger siblings. And they ALL looked up to him. He is the perfect balance of leader:childish ratio. His Te makes him quite opinionated and blunt, which is why a lot of people mistype him as ENTP. Just remember to use functions not letters, lol. ENFPs have Te in our third slot. Also, notice that he was the very last member of 1D to release a solo album. His solo album - Walls - took very long to write. He was very careful and perfectionistic; taking things slow and pouring his heart out into his lyrics. He didn’t care that the rest of his bandmates had already released albums long before him. He wanted to REALLY show the world his true, authentic self. He spent so much time into this album, just to be as authentic as he possibly can. This again displays Fi - staying true to himself. His perfectionistic and hardworking side, combined with his chaos and playfulness, resembles an ENFP at their finest. I think the problem with everyone arguing that he is ENTP is that they mistake his ‘bluntness’, teasing and honesty as Ti. It all screams ‘wanting to be your authentic self’ to me. Us Fi users are usually VERY honest, personally I do not care what others think as long as Im being honest and being myself. As Ne doms, ENFPs are just as joking and teasing as ENTPs. We love to bully people. But unlike ENTPs, we have a limit and are sensitive to people’s feelings - although I admit that MANY ENFPs (including myself) take things too far at times. Again, his tertiary Te probably makes y’all believe he’s an ENTP due to his bluntness and straightforwardness at times. A great example of how much of an ENFP Louis is is during his X factor moments as a judge. You could clearly see his sympathy and kindness towards the contestants. He clearly didnt want to upset them - he was very very kind and sweet to them all. All the contestants loved him. You could see the difference between him and Simon - a very obvious Thinker - when giving their opinions. While Simon was all harsh and blunt, Louis comforted the contestants with his pure heart and kindness <3 He was always comforting participants, sharing his own struggles and problems with them, reassuring them. He was easily able to see potential in SO MANY people. He saw potential in the contestants when the other judges couldnt. Screams ENFP to me. When the other judges criticised contestants, Louis would comfort them and encourage them to never give up. And above everything else, you could tell that he was genuine in all of his actions. Anyway yeah I hope y’all understand that Louis is a very clear ENFP with strong use of Fi. I could’ve added in more examples but I think I wrote enough.

Louis William Tomlinson (/ˈluːi ˈtɒmlɪnsən/;born Louis Troy Austin; 24 December 1991)is an English singer, songwriter and television personality. He is known as a member of the boy band One Direction. Tomlinson began his career as an actor, appearing in ITV drama film If I Had You and the BBC drama Waterloo Road. In 2010, he became a member of One Direction after being eliminated as a solo contestant on the British music competition series The X Factor. One Direction has since released five albums, embarked on four world tours, and won several awards, becoming one of most successful musical groups of all time.
