What personality type is Knockout? Knockout is an ESTP personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - - 738 in Enneagram, SLUEI in Big 5, in Socionics.
Type 3 "The Achiever" is more about reaching goals and recognition, while type 7 "The Enthusiast" is more about seeking experiences and opportunities. Almost everything Knock Out does is motivated by fun, he thrives on excitement and constantly seeks for new experiences, even disobeys orders and goes street racing, to drive-in theaters and such. He does not need approval or recognition, unlike Starscream for example, who's type 3. I guess the passion for his looks could be 3 is in his tritype, but 7 definitely takes the lead. Additional edit: Let us compare Knockout and Starscream once again. Starscream constantly uses all of his skills to overthrow Megatron, it is obvious that achieving a higher (or the highest) status is his primary goal. Meanwhile Knockout never truly tries to change his status unless external reasons threaten his security in his current position. This is also why he changes sides at the end of the show: the decepticons are falling apart, Starscream doesn't care about him, therefore neither his skills or status matter anymore. Where will he be safer? With the autobots. This also may be why he's a lot more reckless and self-indulgent in the beginning of the show rather than the end. He was the only doctor on the ship, so his position was secure enough for him to let himself have fun and partially disobey Megatron. Then Shockwave shows up, the overall situation gets tenser and we no longer see or hear anything about Knockout having any additional activities besides what he has been ordered to do. Why? Because his position is threatened and his primary focus again shifts to basic survival by showing that he can still bring value to Megatron. I also think there's way too much emphasis from the fan's end on the way Knockout is portrayed by fans on the internet versus how he actually is in the show.
