Nikei Yomiuri MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Nikei Yomiuri? Nikei Yomiuri is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/so - 835 in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.

A lot of possibilities for Nikei's enneagram have been brought up due to the ambiguity of his character and motives, but let me raise you a mini-essay on my thoughts of Nikei as a self-preservation 3. Nikei has a few defining characteristics integral to his typing. The first is his need for control manifesting itself in such a way that lines up with sp3: described as having “[the] need for security, power, money and position, which then results in a preference for being efficient that leads to them identifying themselves through what they produce." The latter part of the definition is supported by another essential part of his characterization: someone incredibly hardworking and on-the-go, to the point where it is stated in FTEs that he has had no time for hobbies or friends, devoting to journalism in such a way that he has little concept of work-life balance. His work *is* his life, and being faster, more dedicated, and having a more consistent quality of output than anyone else in his field gives him the ability to place himself on top. “Being busy is therefore a way of feeling safe, and moving quickly from one thing to another, a way of controlling. / The doing is constant, the agenda never ends.” Nikei gains security through his job, and through having the power to control the narrative. A positive feedback loop is created: Knowing more than others allows him to be the best reporter, and having information on others allows him to feel a sense of control over others. He feels most at ease in a position where he is not subordinate, and fears that lack of control + self identity to the point he would do anything to keep it. “They strive relentlessly to assure their survival, which feels perpetually in jeopardy to them. This is the subtype of the workaholic who cannot take a break, and the self-made man who accumulates a fortune and yet feels that his survival is still precarious." Mikado has a line about how Nikei had a lot to lose, even compared to the others. All of the members of Void were granted social status, but for him in particular it feels as though he cannot exist without his job. It is so central to him that he is nothing without it, having given everything to his work that actively upholds the idea "I don't give in to anyone, I'm on top and you're below me." "Control is the reverse of anguish, and anguish or fear is for an E3 an overwhelming and not allowed experience." As soon as his security is threatened, when he starts believing that 1) There's no chance of him keeping the fortune that granted him this, and 2) He will be forced back to having no status or power, completely subordinate to someone else, on top of his life being threatened, that's when he goes off the deep end. "Every E3 sells an image, but this subtype sells the idea of someone who apparently doesn't care about their image; they avoid being self-assuming and often portray themselves as reliable, helpful and hard-working individuals." This lines up particularly both with his very early behavior, as well as how he acts after having revealed himself as Void, selling the image of trust and cooperation. He gives just enough information to keep the others at bay, while still omitting crucial details for the sake of his plan to get back at Mikado. "Because “what are emotions for?” He considers that feeling is a waste of time and that it does not solve anything. Emotions break the feeling of order and having everything under control." The way Nikei acts and the masks he puts up all correlate to his sense of safety, with Mikado being someone who directly takes it away from him. At the end of chapter 1, when he sees Hajime executed and understands his safety in Void is a farce, his demeanor shifts from an eccentric, energetic and friendly guy, to someone who goes out of his way to instigate problems and rile people up for the sake of it: exerting control over others the ways he can. He becomes cooperative again when believing he could have something to gain from it, going out of his way to entrust Setsuka and later the rest of the group, while still ultimately working under his own agenda of revenge against Mikado. Nikei is also characterized as an adept liar, someone capable of constantly operating under some degree of falsehood with no shortage of willingness to do anything to further his own goals. ”A control with which he manipulates the people he lives with so that they do what he needs for the sake of his safety,” taken to the extreme. “When he loses control and an overflowing emotionality appears, the conservation E3 usually gets angry with himself or with the person or situation involved.” (1/2)
