While Thebe displays introversion in his behavior, I have yet to see any arguments as to why he's dominant in Introverted thinking over Introverted feeling and vice versa. However, I do notice his extraverted intuition coming into play and its very active. Thebe's raps are usually summarised in the following two words. For first time listeners, his discography would be the textbook definitions of both arcane and abstruse. As of 2018 and onwards, with releases such as SRS and Feet of Clay, his work formats a style of lyricism submersed with metaphors, a style more akin to poetry much like his late father, Keorapetse Kgositsile. These days, there is a lot more of this heavy usage of riddle-like imagery he regularly makes use of compared to his earlier works like Earl, Doris and even IDLSIDGO to some extent. In his single 'WHOLE WORLD' featuring Maxo, it's a good example of his writing style process. Thebe here, paints this picture for the listener's mental canvas detailing the "death" of his past self, the world around him declining into entropy (referring to his battles with living) but obscures it with whatever sort of "out the box" abstraction he finds that contextually fits. https://youtu.be/4wWCb_w3Ks8 "Made a home outta house, lotta closet room. Bones stackin like dominoes." He starts off the second verse by saying he bought a house but in this imagery-esque fashion, Thebe compares this recently bought house with lots of closet rooms (little to no decorations and furniture) to the emptiness he deals with on a day to day basis. His unattended life was once a house with open empty spaces but he eventually made it into a home, or atleast, it is getting to that point. It then follows up with him adding, that nothing but his own thoughts piles up in this empty building, they begin to stack like dominos. So throughout his verse, you'll continue to see just how much of an importance the theme is in this track, that he is starting to make fine-tuning adjustments. "I finish what I start, the funeral was hella long, I fell asleep, the effigy was short." followed with: "My effervescence lost, but not entirely, I shrug the venom off. Kept a tiny piece for times we in a war." a little later he says: "Anxious, movin' at a pallbearer's pace." All of this is accounting his new resolve slowly entering into the mix. He also cements this "death of self" in reference to leaving his Columbia records label: "Icicles hangin' in my heart, cagey as strays, stay away, I hate to say they made me a dog." He brings "making you my *****" to a whole new level, but places himself within that bracket, implying that's what the label did to him. He found the situation with his label frustrating, not allowing the artist to venture off to do any creative risks, which made him feel caged. During the developmental stages of Some Rap Songs, his mix engineer for the album, Gio Escobar, told Pitchfork that Thebe was: "Pushing hard to present the entire record as one standalone track, but the powers that be wouldn't allow it." Comparing it to the capturing of stray dogs, he felt as if he was made to be complacent with the label's accustoms to the album cause of streaming service algorithms and the rap identity he had garnered, which he explained to Pitchfork after leaving his record label. " In summary, he's now freer than he ever was, without any ties or constraints to box him in (his record label, his rap pseudonym, his past). After moving at a pallbearer's pace to get to this very point in his life, the journey to the destination (his funeral) carrying his "coffin" has finally reached its end. His past self can finally be put to rest. Not as held back from his circumstances anymore, he's now able to move towards a new lane in his life. While still not perfect (which he admits), he now sees in himself that he's more prepared this time around. He keeps the bit of "venom" that he's carried and uses it as a lesson, so his effervescence was not entirely lost for nothing, cause it matured him. These "shortcomings" was all to prepare him for another oncoming war but he's grown numb to its chilly waters (the waters of life are comparatively more warm to him than cold, after his years of battling depression), as he puts it. "I like to think of life as deep, chilly water. We in it, feelin' warm, swimmin' upstream." (1/2)
